Chapter 01
When the heat fails
No heat, insufficient heat, a furnace that will not turn on or a boiler that is leaking are the calls we get most in a New England winter. Our technicians inspect the system, diagnose the actual problem, and explain it in plain terms before any work starts.
Strange noises, a pilot light or ignition that will not stay lit, a thermostat that will not hold a setting, short cycling, and an energy bill that has crept up for no obvious reason are all signs worth a call, even if the system is still limping along. So are radiators that never get properly hot.

Furnaces and boilers
We install and replace gas furnaces and boilers built for dependable performance through a New England winter, for both residential and commercial systems. Frequent repairs, rising heating costs, uneven temperatures, poor airflow and constant cycling are the usual signs a furnace is nearing the end of its life, especially past fifteen years old.
A boiler replacement gets the same attention to sizing and installation, including high-efficiency upgrades and hydronic heating work, so the new unit is properly matched to the home and its budget instead of just swapped in. Boiler and furnace installs often include running or extending the gas line that feeds them, which we handle as part of the same job.

Radiators and hydronic heating
Radiator installation, replacement, valve replacement and repair round out the hydronic side of the business, along with balancing a system so every room gets even heat instead of one radiator running hot while another stays cold. Troubleshooting an existing system is often faster than replacing it outright.

Repair or replace
When a system is more than fifteen years old, needs frequent repairs, is running up energy bills, or needs parts that are getting hard to find, replacement usually saves money over another round of patchwork repairs. We evaluate the system in front of us rather than pushing a new unit by default.
